N97 - Ball out of Nokia

Posted by Rodrigo Piccelli on April 28th, 2009

Hello everyone, long time that do not show hein!

I entered the blog just to take a story that at least for me it was not the most pleasant. Nokia ta giving a ball outside the specifications of the N97 that was released today, I made a comparison with the aging N95-1 and see the result:

For that I did not expect, despite the clock "slightly" above the device is uni and not have the graphics card that makes much difference on the N95 when compared to his "successor" N96.

I hope that the improvements in the operating system justify these breaches, otherwise the N97 is not worth the price charged for it.

See you soon ...

Hello dear readers ...

For months they did not update the site and because of the larger forces'm not taking chances ...

Of course, the more normal is to think: "No time to write a few lines?"

But it is well out there, the site is not officially closed and I hope to return to spend the time before I had for him today that I am not able to find ...

I appreciate the comments and requests for "BACK RODRIGO" I have received via e-mail ...

I am devoted to three projects and some personal priorities that are consuming me to the extreme, but who knows, right?

rodrigopiccelli.com is not dead and it is likely that soon we will have news ...

Thank you all ... = D

Released V31.0.014 firmware for N95-1

Posted by Rodrigo Piccelli on December 4th, 2008

And the relentless strikes again.

The N95-1 got another version of firmware, shortly after the launch of the S30. Who want to upgrade, simply use the Nokia Software Update.

I am always in favor of upgrading the firmware because it brings updates and fixes for the device, but this time I'm far too lazy to have to reinstall everything. I'll wait a little, at least until you see the changelog for this release.

Nokia N97 - The phone that I was expecting

Posted by Rodrigo Piccelli on December 2nd, 2008

For some time I'm waiting for the announcement of a cell "up time", as was the N95 in its release. At first I was eyeing the Samsumg Innov8, which is without doubt an excellent machine, but now Nokia has what I call the final card, the N97:

See the specs of belezura:

Music playback: Up to 37 hours (offline mode)

Connectivity & Data Services

• WLAN IEEE 802.11b / g with UPnP support

• Micro-USB connector, Hi-Speed USB 2.0

• 3.5mm stereo headphone plug and TV-out support (PAL / NTSC)

• Bluetooth wireless technology 2.0 with A2DP stereo audio, enhanced data rates (EDR)

• GPS receiver with support for assisted GPS (A-GPS)

I could say it's perfect, but I would not go that far. Failure to support digital TV and I still can not say he has a graphic aceledora as the N95 also, so I can see the pictures, apparently because Nokia did not make USB charger for, what I consider a failure too great, there is nothing in the speaking of accelerometer and finally, this dual LED flash and it could be a xenon. Anyway we are close to perfection and this is possibly my next phone. Now you wait.

N95 - Solving the problem "Contact the Dealer"

Posted by Rodrigo Piccelli on November 28th, 2008

YES! I'm Alive!

No! I have not abandoned you!

You know right staff? End of year, life is a hellish run, a project with tight time and run the day-to-day just so that staff give up some things that take time to benefit others.

Pra help'm not faced with very interesting news recently, and you publish any zucchini not only to run out of update, I'd rather not update it.

Speaking of that matters now: Many people had the problem recently, after updating the firmware, backing up, the screen appears "Contact the Dealer" in restarting the phone.

I even had this problem but it was resolved with a new boot, which has not been the reality of other people.

Well, before "getting in touch with the dealer, try the following (the credits are the reader Frost, Thanks for the tip):

Unplug the unit, hold tight while the keys "3", "*" and "SEND" and linked the device.

That's it ...

Regarding updates on the site, have faith that whenever he has a little time I come back!

Thank you all ... =)

Vivo Zap 3G in Paulista, but now

Posted by Rodrigo Piccelli on October 27th, 2008

Quick post just to close to testing the connection 3G Live at the Avenida Paulista in Sao Paulo.

After a week of not very good, came in contact with live and promised a fix, here is the result of the test undertaken a few:

Apparently things fell into place, I made a series of tests and was always in this medium. Recalling that nominally my connection is only 1Mbps, which means that both my home and here in my workplace, the connection is better than expected. :-)

I stopped a bit with these posts about connection, I think I gave you guys have an idea, no doubt just get in touch!

WiMax network will be tested in Sao Paulo from tomorrow

Posted by Rodrigo Piccelli on October 23rd, 2008

Partnership between Motorola, Intel and Telefónica offer WiMax signal free neighborhoods of pine and Gardens.

The test will take place closed 150 residential customers of Telefonica for 3 months, the group will receive a free connection of 2 Mbps and the objective is to assess the technical feasibility of the connection as the user response.

The consortium also plans to conduct similar tests in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba and Porto Alegre even without term.

If the tests are successful and the equipment Morotola are approved by Anatel, Telefonica plans to launch WiMax commercially only in Sao Paulo.

I know little about the functioning of the WiMax network, but if I remember correctly the signal is not compatible with the WiFi signal, which means it would not be possible to use only the signal with a common laptop, requiring a specific modem. Another thing I read is that the UMTS / HSDPA is better and that in many parts of the world's WiMax has been prevented.

I will not judge without being sure, so I will develop a little more and the beginning of next week I do an article on the differences.

Today Nokia announced a new Bluetooth headset called "Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-804" and was presented by the Finnish giant as the smallest enhancement of the genre released so far.

This small phone brings the latest technology for this type of equipment, then it can expect quality audio and conversations without problems. One example is the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) that cancels the background noise.

Here are the technical specifications of the new toy:

  • 7.2 grams, 42 x 13.6 x 6 mm
  • Talk-time: up to 4 hours
  • Standby time: up to 150 hours
  • Bluetooth 2.0, EDR
  • Hands-Free (HFP) Profile 1.5, Headset (HSP) Profile 1.1
  • MicroUSB charging connector
  • Operating range: up to 10 meters
  • Operating temperature: -15 ° C to +55 ° C
  • It will be sold this year, but the price has not been announced. It will come in two colors (gray and black) and will be included in the package a desktop charger and a belt to carry it around the neck.

To think that I will retire my good old HS-26W, yet comfortable he is an encumbrance to be carrying and I have to close the car window when I'm using but can not hear anything. It will only depend on the price ...
